Under the direct supervision and support from Japan International Volunteer Center (JVC), Your Voice Organization (YVO) was established in 2019. JVC was established in 1980, while JVC started working in Afghanistan in 2001 with a primary focus on emergency aid including but not limited to activities in the field of WASH, health care, education, peacebuilding, and policy advocacy. JVC as of 2020 January operates in 11 countries around the globe.

In addition to the fact that international staff members could no longer stay or frequently visit the project site due to deteriorated security situation, JVC was committed to support the localization of the Afgan office. It was clear that management capacities of Afghan local staff were enhanced to a sustainable level in order to continue the legacy of JVC in the form of National NGO. In March 2019, JVC Afghanistan officially became Your Voice Organization (YVO) recognized as non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization registered under the constitution of NGO law of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, with a registration number 4679.

Inheriting all the spirits, assets, knowledge and experiences from JVC, YVO is currently implementing two projects: Community Based Education (CBE) and Peace building, responding to the eminent needs of the communities.
